An email from UK Police was sent to the student body regarding a case of sexual assault on campus.
According to the email sent on the evening of Sept. 4, the assault was reported on Sept. 3. UKPD got a report regarding “a strangulation that occurred on UK’s campus.”
The charges according to the UK Crime Log are “Sexual abuse – 3rd degree — strangulation 2nd degree (non-domestic violence) — harassment ( no physical contact).”
The UK Crime Bulletin reports that the assault occurred on Aug. 29 around 9:30 p.m. inside the victim’s dorm, Chellgren Hall.
Both the victim and the suspect are UK students, who are reported to know each other.
UK Police are investigating the incident.
