Kentucky offensive lineman Kenneth Horsey became the second Wildcat to enter his name into the 2024 NFL Draft on Wednesday.
In his social media post announcing his departure Horsey wrote, “Coming to Kentucky has been the greatest decision I’ve ever made.”
Horsey joined Kentucky in 2018 as a three-star recruit out of Sanford Seminole High School in Florida.
He redshirted his freshman season, the first 10-3 season under head coach Mark Stoops, before seeing the field in four games as a redshirt freshman in 2019.
After undergoing open heart surgery he was named Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year in 2020, the same year he started eight games for the Cats.
In 2021 Horsey started in all 13 games for the Wildcats, including their Citrus Bowl win to complete another 10-win season, and was part of the “Big Blue Wall,” a nickname given to Kentucky’s offensive line, that was a finalist for the Joe Moore Award.
Being honored as a team captain in 2022, Horsey was named to numerous preseason All-SEC teams and was named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List.
Electing to return to Kentucky for a sixth year, utilizing his additional year of eligibility from the Covid-19 pandemic, Horsey battled injuries that only allowed him to play in six games.
Now looking to move on to the next level, Horsey will join running back Ray Davis in the NFL Draft pool.
The 2024 NFL Draft is set to begin April 25, 2024, from Campus Martius Park in Hart Plaza of Detroit, Michigan.
Kentucky football will still have a bowl game remaining on the schedule, with a location and time to be announced. Horsey’s participation in the bowl game is to be determined.
