UK Plus is now officially rebranded as CatCash, according to an email from the UK CatCash Office on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
“CatCash — the newly named program — is more than just a rebrand or name change; it is an enhancement to the overall campus experience for UK students, faculty, and staff,” the email said.
For account holders who created an account before this change, the current balance and settings will not be changed, according to the email.
Cassie Marriott, the associate director of Auxiliary HR and Campus Hospitality, previously said the reason for rebranding was to clarify the difference between UK Plus and UK Flex Dollars, which is only used on-campus, the Kentucky Kernel reported.
Some of the updates include using this debit program through Grubhub at different businesses nationwide.
“CatCash offers a convenient way to make purchases on and off campus at various locations for buying items such as food, bookstore merchandise, prescription medications, and more,” the CatCash website said.
For people who need support with their account, the email suggested reaching out to [email protected] or calling 859-257-6159.
The CatCash office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gatton Student Center in suite A150, according to the website.
“As we continue to implement changes, visit CatCash.uky.edu for more updates as the academic year continues,” the email said.
