The UK Police Department sent a crime bulletin on Monday evening informing the campus community of an incident of sexual abuse on UK’s campus.

Sent via campus-wide email, the bulletin said the incident reportedly occurred Sunday, March 5, in an on-campus residence hall. A student reported the incident to UKPD on Sunday, saying they were sexually abused.

The victim is reported to have known the suspect.

“The appropriate campus units are working with individuals involved to provide resources and support,” the email said.

This is the second crime bulletin the UKPD has released this school year.

Students are encouraged to contact the Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Center for confidential support, and report any incidents of harassment or sexual assault to the Title IX Coordinator.
