UK Athletics makes progress on Kroger Field scoreboard renovation
January 24, 2023
UK began installing a new logo on the scoreboard at Kroger Field on Monday, Jan. 23.
The project features new UK letters on the outer side of the scoreboard and is funded by the $30 million budget granted to UK Athletics last spring.
The board allocated the funds to projects at the Nutter Field House and Kroger Field, with $5 million of the budget specified for the scoreboards at Kroger Field.
Last spring, the remaining $25 million was set to be used for improvements to the Nutter Field House and a new indoor track and field facility.
As of Sept. 16, 2022, the new indoor track and field facility was named the Jim Green Indoor Track and Field Center.

This story was from January. Any plans on doing a story on the completed UK logo? How does this project, tie into what appears to be new, LED lighting throughout the Kroger Field?

Why isn’t Kroger paying for a big chunk of this?
Did they get naming rights with a single big donation a while back? How many years does it last?
Is there an annual contribution required to keep their name in place?
