SG to discuss Dead Week changes
February 4, 2009
A Student Government committee will discuss two proposals on changing Dead Week during a meeting Wednesday.
The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet at 8 p.m. in the SG office on the first floor of the Student Center to discuss the options, said SG President Tyler Montell.
Montell said the most likely option allows professors to pick the due date of one small or large paper, which would have to be turned in during Dead Week or Finals Week.
The second option allows either papers or tests, but the students get to vote which they would prefer.
Montell has worked with SG Faculty Senate Advisory Board Chairman Joseph Quinn to come up with ideas to change Dead Week.
“I’m really excited about this,†Montell said. “Joe and I have been working on this for six months and we finally came up with some guidelines.â€
The SG Appropriations & Revenue Committee will also meet Wednesday at 8 p.m. to discuss funding for student organizations.
