December 11, 2011
- Sebastian Pruiti at Grantland.com breaks down John Wall’s rookie season and how he needs to improve to become an elite point guard.
- Several former UK players signed new contracts this week:
-
- Tayshaun Prince — 4 years, $27 million with the Detroit Pistons.
- Chuck Hayes — 4 years, $21.3 million with the Sacremento Kings (pairing him with DeMarcus Cousins, who apparently is feeling “sexy” as he slims down, and Tyreke Evans).
- Josh Harrellson — terms unknown with the New York Knicks.
- Brandon Knight — terms unknown with the Detroit Pistons.
- DeAndre Liggins — terms unknown with the Orlando Magic.
- The Boston Celtics have been rumored to be shopping Rajon Rondo, but only if they can get either New Orleans point guard Chris Paul or Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook in return. Both of those scenarios seem very unlikely. I’d be extremely surprised if Rondo was anywhere but Boston in the foreseeable future.
- Keith Bogans’ contract with the Chicago Bulls expires on Dec. 19, with a club option on that day. And from what the Bulls’ front office is saying, it seems unlikely that the option will be picked up.
- Eric Bledsoe had surgery Oct. 7 to repair torn cartilage in his right knee. He is expected to return by late January.
- Enes Kanter has barely seen a court in the last couple years. Now that the lockout is over, his basketball life is about to resume.
