Lexington will host its first NBA game in 13 years one day after the 2013 edition of Big Blue Madness — and it’s set to feature some familiar faces.
John Wall and the Washington Wizards will go up against Anthony Davis, Darius Miller and the New Orleans Pelicans in a preseason game at Rupp Arena on Oct. 19.
Wall became the first player in UK history to be selected first overall at the NBA Draft when he was taken by the Wizards with the first pick in 2010.
Davis become the second Cat to go No. 1 two years later, weeks after he and Miller lifted the NCAA championship trophy in UK uniforms.
“It’s going to be fun to get back to Lexington and the University of Kentucky,” Davis said. “It’s always great to come back and play where you went to school, so it should be a fun game.”
Tickets for the clash go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and are priced $10-$250 at ticketmaster.com and the Lexington Center ticket office.
The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
