UK expected to raise tuition next week

Next week, UK’s Board of Trustees will vote on a 5 percent tuition increase for in-state students, an 8.5 percent increase tuition increase for out-of-state students and a 2 percent raise for employees.
The board was briefed by officials this week, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. The university’s proposed budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year will be $3.5 billion.
For in-state students, the annual cost for in-state students will be $25,904, which includes a 3 percent raise in housing cost.
