Local artists Dani Greene and Raymond Mueller will paint a 30-foot tall mural of Trinity Gay at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, according to a report by LEX 18.

Gay was shot and killed in a Cookout parking lot in October. She was only 15. The artists hope that the mural will bring awareness to the issue of gun violence in the community.

The mural will be based on a photo of Gay that was approved by her family. It will be accompanied by the family motto: “Pass the baton.”

The artists have been contacted by other families that have been affected by gun violence. They plan to paint more murals for future victims to continue spreading their message.
