Peyton Plotts’ dominant performance led Kentucky softball to a sweep over Boston in a doubleheader by scores of 4-3 and 13-4.
Plotts started off the day with a two-run homer in the first inning to give the Cats an early lead.
Later in the game, she hit a go-ahead solo homerun to put the Cats ahead 4-3 in the top of the eighth. Kentucky would eventually get the win in large part due to this hit.
In the second game, Plotts hit her third home run of the day to give the Cats a 13-4 lead and helped them to a series sweep. Plotts finished the doubleheader batting 4-8 with four RBIs and three home runs.
This dominance should not come as a surprise.
This season, Plotts has improved in almost every statistic. She is batting .364 with a 1.180 OPS and a .735 slugging percentage, which all leads the team.
She is also second on the team in on-base percentage (.445) while leading the Wildcats in homeruns (11) and RBIs (42).
Plotts will look to continue her dominant season as Kentucky hosts Western Kentucky on Tuesday, April 15. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
