Kentucky men’s basketball and Head Coach Mark Pope earned a massive commitment on Monday, landing Alabama transfer Mouhamed Dioubate.
Dioubate became the third transfer to commit to Kentucky, helping to build Pope’s 2025-26 roster.
He announced his commitment on social media with a caption that had a blue and white heart.
Dioubate averaged 7.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per night with the Alabama Crimson Tide as a 6-foot-7 sophomore out of Queens. He shot 61% from the field.
He is an interesting case, having not entered the portal when it opened, but only doing so after Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide earned the commitment of Taylor Bol Bowen, another Kentucky target.
Dioubate scored 13 in Bama’s win over Kentucky in the SEC Tournament, shooting 83% from the field and making his lone 3-point attempt, while combining for 12 in the Tide’s regular season sweep of Pope’s Cats.
With his commitment, Kentucky took a major stride forward in adding a player with SEC experience to join Kam Williams and Jaland Lowe, the other two transfer commitments Kentucky added.
The Cats are also bringing in star freshmen and are expected to return significant producers from last year’s Sweet Sixteen squad.
It is to be seen who else joins Kentucky.
