Walkway closures on South Campus will begin on Friday, Feb. 21, according to the University of Kentucky Transportation Services email.
The closure will run from Complex Drive to Kroger Field between the Johnson Center and the tennis courts.
The walkway will be closed for the rest of the 2025 spring semester due to utility and construction activities at the tennis courts.
According to UK Transportation Services Communications Officer Lisa Cleveland, “The utility work is necessary to relocate existing underground utilities that serve the Boone Tennis Center.”
According to the Transportation Services email, permit holders in Kroger Field are suggested to find alternative routes on University Drive and Sports Center Drive, as well as using the Blue Route and White Route buses on campus.
“We’re continuing to work closely with the project team to minimize any disruption and will update the campus community later this spring as we have more information to share,” Cleveland said.
