She should have been charged with a hate crime. But in America no one is charged with a hate crime against Black people no matter how egregious their crimes are. And for the record, yt on yt crime, Asian on Asian crime does exits it’s an actual thing!

Good!!!! Because she could’ve got hurt, but they did what was right. She also fought a officer. She learned that day

this sentence was pretty much the maximum and as a first time offender, was harsh given the circumstances. The girl was dumb for losing control and being drunk, but you’re expected to see that at any college. How it was handled by others was unnecessary. So I view all parties as wrong here.

You are not expected to see blatant, unprovoked and outright racism. It was handled appropriately and her consequences reflect her own actions. Let us not forget she kicked, and bit a police officer during her arrest. She called the RA a n*gger 200 times, how exactly was she also a wrong party in this situation?

Mike bears some watching, I think

No. It’s obvious to anyone with a brain that only the white lwomam spewing racist hate towards people is in the wrong.

I think this shows a great example of how far we’ve come as a fair community. I feel that justice was served in a perfect manner. She got exactly what she deserved. It’s very few times where we see rich white college kids actually face consequences for their actions. So I think it’s a great day and I also think that she will think a million times over before ever saying a racial slur again.

I NEVER expected to be called the n word in college….do you think it’s some sort of right of passage or something?? We drank plenty in college and not once did we ever physically or verbally assault anyone. And I’d love to hear how you think the victim handled it wrong. She clearly says that she initially asked her if she was ok because she was concerned with how drunk she was and at no time, even after being hit, kicked
and bitten, did she assault the perpetrator.
If the victim was your daughter, and a black girl was behaving like this, would a year be too harsh?

So exactly how should it have been handled. She was drunk, racist and assaulting a girl she didn’t even know? The others were calm and attempting to still help her with all of this going on. I applaud them for their ability to remain calm because just as “you” may expect this inexcusable behavior on a college campus I would have expected her to have gotten treated a lot differently for her behavior on a college campus and my expectations would not have been as gentle

They handled it how they were supposed to cause if it was me I would have beat tf outta her stop enabling peoples bullshit

She is dangerous and probably is a terrorist glad she is in jail.

This is sad all the way around. The student assaulted would rather not have had this in her college experience, the student doing this, hopefully regrets her bad choices and must face the consequences. Prison is not pleasant, nor is it intended to be. The shame and embarrassment that she must bear is a punishment that she will carry forever.
Do unto others. Stay away from intoxicants; many a life has been shattered beyond repair because of alcohol and drugs.

A year is surprising. I know she regrets ever doing that doing a year in jail for something you did two years ago. YIKES
SH • Mar 17, 2025 at 12:29 am
Totally fair. Time passing doesn’t reduce the charges against her..
SH • Mar 17, 2025 at 12:32 am
So actually time passing doesn’t reduce the charges. She still has to pay for the consequences of her racist actions. I hope this helps.

Hopefully this half wit gets a beat down on a regular basis behind bars
Scot Finley • Oct 19, 2024 at 11:22 pm
I regret that you feel this way. That would only perpetuate the cycle of hate. Hopefully this young woman will receive the forgiveness she needs and will not let this define her life. I hope, like I have, that she finds the peace of the Risen Christ.

Agreed.

Her ancestors who were speaking through her are proud. So are the schools and universitas who’ve likely offered her free tuition and a furbishing career likely in politics once she’s done time served! It’s the American way!
