Kentucky football added yet another commit in the class of 2025, with three-star defensive back Demarcus Gardner flipping his commitment from the University of Central Florida (UCF) to Kentucky on Sunday.
The addition of Gardner brings the number of recruits in Kentucky’s 2025 class to 12, with the Georgia native being the third addition of the weekend for head coach Mark Stoops.
247Sports has Gardner listed as the No. 84 player in Georgia, with the two-way player from Cedarville High School expected to see most of his collegiate snaps on the defensive side of the ball.
Gardner fielded offers from the likes of SMU, East Carolina and Kentucky before initially committing to the UCF Knights, but would find his way to Lexington after a subsequent decommitment.
With many productive veterans including standout corner Andru Phillips finding a home in the NFL, Gardner will look to build upon what the likes of veteran Wildcat corners in juniors Alex Afari Jr. and Maxwell Hairston and senior Zion Childress will do this upcoming season.
Kentucky will open up its 2024 season on Saturday, August 31, at home against Southern Miss. The schedule for 2025 has yet to be released.
