Four-star former Kentucky commit Somto Cyril committed to Georgia on Monday, opting not to follow John Calipari to Arkansas like many others had.
Cyril announced he had decided to reopen his recruitment following the departure of Calipari to Arkansas and was released from his national letter of intent. He had committed to UK back on June 28, 2023, and signed his letter of intent on Nov. 8, 2023.
The 6-foot, 10-inch center played in the Overtime Elite league and was offered by Cincinnati, Florida, Georgetown and Indiana.
While many names wanted the big man, he ultimately decided to test his luck in Athens, committing to the Georgia Bulldogs and head coach Mike White.
