At around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, suspects were taken into custody by UK police after an attempted armed robbery was reported at 10:35 p.m.

Police urged students to avoid the area and UK Alerts went out at 10:56 p.m.

On-campus landline phones went off, telling people to remain indoors and stay away from windows and doors.

Police reported three young male subjects last seen wearing dark hoodies and running toward White Hall Classroom Building.

The victim, a non-student, was walking near the Peterson Service Building when the suspects jumped out of the bushes and struck the victim with a revolver, according to the UKNow website.

The suspects reportedly demanded the victims money and cellphone, but the victim refused. Then one of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim, according to the website.
