Student academic violations to be kept after graduation

Staff Report
UK will now keep the records of minor academic offenses, including plagiarism, even after a student graduates, according to the University Senate Agenda for Nov. 11.
Previously, a student’s record of minor offenses would be deleted after graduation if the student did not commit subsequent offenses.
Now, after a change to University Senate Rule 6.4.7.A.1, UK will keep the record after graduation.
UK will reveal the record offenses to third parties if a court-ordered subpoena requests a student’s full academic record or record of academic offenses.
The record will also be released if the student has authorized releasing record to a third party.
