Quick Recap: Cats bury Transy, 74-28

After a competitive first half from the Pioneers, UK left Transy behind in the second half, winning 74-28.

The Cats out scored Transy 47-10 after halftime, distancing themselves after a sluggish start.

Freshman forward Nerlens Noel led all scorers with 15 points. Graduate transfer Julius Mays, who suffered a right leg strain and day listed as day-to-day, added 14, and freshamn forward Willy Cauley-Stein chipped in 12.

UK shot 59.2 percent from the floor and held Transy to 26 percent shooting.

This was UK’s final exhibition. The Cats travel to Brooklyn on Friday to take on the Maryland Terrapins.
