Terrence Jones said his finger is getting closer to being back to 100 percent.

“It changes every game, just because of how it gets hit,” Jones said. “I’m icing it, getting treatment. It feels a lot better, though.”

Jones has scored 21 points in the three games since returning from an injured finger.

“We want him to score 15, 20 points a game,” Calipari said, noting Jones has to play rougher for that to happen. “He should be able to do that.”

Jones said he’s decreased his focus on scoring because of his finger but concentrated more on rebounding to help the team. He’s grabbed 23 rebounds in the last three games.

But those rebounds could lead to more points.

“The great thing about rebounding, I said be as selfish as you want to be,” Calipari said. “Grab a few of those offensive rebounding, you’re one foot from the basket.”

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who sustained a minor chest injury after Tuesday’s game, practiced on Thursday. Calipari said he is “fine.” Kidd-Gilchrist is second on the team in scoring and rebounding.
