Within minutes, the Lexington Fire Department responded to an accident in front of the Gatton College of Business and Economics, where two unknown males were hit by a vehicle.

Two males were in the vehicle that struck the two pedestrians as they crossed South Limestone around 5:25 p.m. The Lexington Police and Fire Departments both responded to the scene.

Lieutenant Daniel Stipp said the two hit by the vehicle were in stable condition and taken to UK Hospital for further treatment. Stipp was unsure if either of them were students, but said he did not think they were.

The two were not crossing the street at a crosswalk.
