UK Pharmacy dean leaves position to teach

The dean of the College of Pharmacy has stepped down, but he said he has enjoyed his time leading the college, according to a UK news release Wednesday.

Kenneth B. Roberts has served as dean of the College of Pharmacy since 2000.

“After nearly 20 years of leading pharmacy schools at major public universities, I am looking forward to returning to the classroom, participating in research, and continuing the development role which has been the hallmark of my deanship,” Roberts said in the news release.

UK Provost Kumble Subbaswamy said he understood Roberts’ wish to return to the classroom but is glad he will help this year with fundraising for the college.

“I will appoint an interim dean after consultation with the faculty and begin a national search for a new dean in the fall,” Subbaswamy said in the news release.
