BOWL BLOG: ECU vs. UK pre-game

MEMPHIS — Hello everyone,

If you’re wondering why we’ve reverted back to our old style of blogging, it’s quite simple: the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium’s wireless internet just refuses to cooperative long enough. Hence, back to our regular old blog.

That doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun, right? Right now, the stadium is almost half full, but it seems to be mostly blue, if that provides any comfort.

Also, the Cats have reverted to blue pants with their white jerseys today, something that hasn’t been seen since 2002, Guy Morriss’ last year on the job. Let’s see if the blue pants gives UK any added benefit today. But they’re just pants, so unless your superstitious, just judge the change as you will.

It’s a nice 61 degrees, likely to drop when the sun does. But, then again, Memphis doesn’t really come alive until the sun dips. Maybe one of these teams will do the same.

Oh and if UK gets out early and wins, they could be the second of three Southeastern Conference teams to win on Jan. 2. Ole Miss is ahead of Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl and Alabama faces Utah in the Sugar Bowl later.

But right now, we’re about liberty. The national anthem is up next. See ya soon.
