Nerlens Noel is is a 6-foot-10, 228-pound freshman forward from Everett, Mass. He was a part of head coach John Calipari’s top-rated recruiting class for 2012.

Noel was the No. 1 overall recruit ranked by Scout.com and the No. 2 overall recruit ranked by Rivals.com.

Calipari has spoke extensively of late about playing both Noel and Willie Cauley-Stein at the same time, giving the Cats an extremely long front line.

Noel spoke with the Kernel in early September about his summer focused on school work and his expectations for the upcoming season.
