Lexington is the fifth-best college city in the US, according to a website that ranks America’s best places to live & visit.

The home of UK came in at No. 5 in Livability.com’s “Top 10 College Towns 2013” list.

Lexington is the second largest city in the state and the 62nd biggest in the US.

Livability cites the community work by UK students, UK’s sports teams, performing arts and the educational opportunities available in Lexington among reasons for ranking the school at No. 5.

Proximity to bars, research facilities, local restaurants and general atmosphere are also taken into account when deciding the top-10 list.

Boulder, Colo., home to the University of Colorado, is the best college town in the country, Livability says.
