The ‘90s are an important decade in the lives of many UK students, and the longing these students feel toward that time can be summed up in one word: nostalgia.

The Student Activities Board will host their ’90s nights  at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Student Center Grand Ballroom, and the Cats Den will begin their event at 7 p.m.

The SAB event, called ‘90s Nostalgia Night, will feature  a trivia contest and will play childhood favorites such as  “Rugrats,” “Hey Arnold,” “The Wild Thornberrys” and “Rocket Power,” according to the SAB website.

“The ‘90s was the coolest decade,” said Zachary Johnson, SAB pop-culture coordinator. “Most of the college students were born in the ‘90s and I was hoping to help them relive their childhood.”

The event is  a chance for students to relax before finals, Johnson said.

The Cats Den event, called ‘90s Trivia Night, will feature questions from popular shows like “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and cartoons like “Cat Dog.”

“The ‘90s were an important part of my childhood,” said Katie Langsdale, event coordinator for the Cats Den. “I believe that other people feel this way, too.”

Langsdale said the night is more of a nostalgia night for students.
