Battle beards, match moustaches at Stachebash
November 9, 2016
Keep growing those beards, boys. After the success of last year’s Stachebash hosted by Lex Effect, the event management company is bringing back Lexington’s ultimate man competition on Nov. 12 for a good cause.
The event will feature all the manliest aspects of what it means to be a Kentucky gentleman, including beard competitions, strong man competitions by Stivers Strength, bourbon tastings by Barrel House Distillery and live tattooing by Bleed Blue Tattoo & Piercings. Stachebash will also host music from local Americana roots group Small Batch, food vendors such as Gastro Gnomes, and beard trimmings by Rooster’s Nest Barber Shop & Shave Parlour.
Even better than the beer is the philanthropic spirit of the event. In honor of no shave November, proceeds from the event will go to fund prostate cancer research, according to Kaelyn Query, founder and president of Lex Effect. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men in the United States with over 26,000 projected deaths from prostate cancer occurring in 2016, according to cancer.net.
Vendors and companies are excited to join with Lex Effect for a second time to put on the event and promote manhood in the Lexington area.
“This event is a fun, laid back atmosphere celebrating all things man,” Query said.
Along with an overwhelming amount of testosterone, goers can expect an evening full of muscles, good eats, and facial hair. While Stachebash is dedicated to men, women are still welcomed to attend and encouraged to take part in the fun.
The event is presented by local radio station 100.1 WKQQ FM and will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. Tickets are $10.
