Bar None joins campus bar scene

One of Lexington’s hot spots, Bar None, popped up near campus just last month and has already gained popularity from the UK’s 21-and-over crowd.
Bar None drew a large crowd of college-aged bar goers for their grand opening on March 25 and continues to bring in revenue from Lexington residents of all adult ages.
The sports bar offers a wide array of amenities including two pool tables, two open area dance floors – inside and outside – and a large projector screen to showcase sporting events.
While customers are ordering off the vast drink menu from one of Bar None’s three bar -tops, they can enjoy music from live bands and DJ’s every evening, Thursday through Saturday.
Since there is currently no cover charge at the bar, customers can spend those few extra dollars on one of the eight locally brewed draft beers, ciders, domestics, crafts or cocktails offered at the bar.
Olivia Lee, a merchandising, apparel and textile junior at UK, became part of the Bar None team in March as a bartender She said she thoroughly enjoys her experience working at the bar and describes Bar None’s ambiance as “lots of different areas for different vibes.”
“There’s lots of room, to sit, stand, dance, or just chill out at the wrap around patio bar,” Lee said.
Bar None is independently owned and operated by Brian Behr. Serving the Lexington community seems to run in the Behr family blood. Behr also owns and operates The Village Idiot downtown. Additionally, his father owns Pazzo’s Pizza Pub and his brother owns The Beer Trappe on Euclid Ave. On top of this, Lexington locals can expect yet another pub and eatery establishment, courtesy of the Behr family, this summer.
“My brother and I are opening a new concept next door to The Beer Trappe that will focus on craft sausages and sliders, as well as cocktails and local craft beer,” Behr said. “The two-storied building, complete with a downstairs and upstairs open air bar, is currently being built, but should be open in June.”
Bar None does not offer a food menu at the moment but welcomes food from outside sources and neighboring restaurants. Behr does express intent to add on a grilling station inside the bar this summer.
Bar None is located at 385 South Limestone on the patio of Pazzo’s Pizza Pub. Its hours of operation are weekdays from 5 p.m. to 2:30 a.m and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 2:30 a.m.
