UK Transportation Services extended bus hours for certain routes. Starting this fall semester, four buses will be operating from 8 p.m. to midnight.

For the 2016-2017 school year, only two buses ran from 8 to 10 p.m. on campus and one bus, the Yellow Route, from 10 p.m. to midnight.

The Yellow Route was discontinued and will no longer be servicing campus at night. However, the Blue, White, and Green routes have extended hours.

Buses on the Blue Route, White Route and Green Route run Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to midnight every seven to 10 minutes.

Remaining consistent, the Orange Route runs Monday through Friday

from 5 a.m. to midnight every three to five minutes, and the Pink Route runs Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

UK Transportation Services has more than doubled the level of service during night hours and has increased the frequency of bus services after 8 p.m.

“The extended service hours will better serve the campus community with simple, predictable and reliable campus bus service,” UK Transportation Services Communication Officer Chrissie Tune said.

During fall and spring semesters, students can request the On-Demand Night Bus, which runs from midnight to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7 p.m. to midnight on Sunday.

Students can call 859-221- RIDE (7433) to request service. The services are limited to UK’s Campus, according to Transportation. The Transloc Rider App allows students to track buses in real time.
