A test of the UK Alert system will take place at 11:50 a.m. on Sept. 14.

UK Police sent out a campus-wide email notifying students, faculty and staff of the test, which will be conducted by UKPD’s Division of Crisis Management and Preparedness. Everyone with a university email address is registered with UK Alert.

In the email, UK Police encouraged all members of UK’s campus to make sure their contact information for UK Alert is current. This can be done on myUK.

“Safety is our top priority at the University of Kentucky. Millions of dollars in investments in people and technology continue to improve safety efforts and initiatives across campus,” UK Police wrote. “At the same time, a critical element in ensuring the safety of everyone in our community is a continual willingness to test ourselves and our capabilities.”
