Benny Snell and Jordan Jones both had big games in the victory over Tennessee, and on Monday, the SEC recognized those performances by naming Snell and Jones SEC Players of the week.

Snell was named the co-offensive player of the week after his 180-yard and three touchdown performance, both of which were season highs. Snell vowed before the game that he’s rush for 100 yards, and he hit that mark before halftime.

Snell also caught the two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter to give the Cats a three-point lead with 30 seconds remaining. Snell’s 100-yard performance was the fourth this season, ninth of his career.

Jones played in his second game since returning from a shoulder injury, and registered a game-high of 13 tackles. Two of which were tackles for loss, and Jones also sacked the quarterback once in the win.

This was Jones’ fifth career game with double-digit tackles. What made the performance even more impressive was that Jones sat out multiple drives to get checked out by trainers.

The Cats’ next game will be at Kroger Field on Saturday, Nov. 4, against Ole Miss. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
