Classic tractor calendars fund opportunities for biosystems and agricultural engineering students
November 16, 2017
Is your wall missing something to make your decorations complete?
Then donate to the Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Student Branch and receive a 2018 “Classic Farm Tractors” calendar.
The calendars are custom made, with photos of classic tractors displaying old-time engineering at its best, said Josh Jackson, assistant professor of livestock systems and faculty adviser for BAE Student Branch.
Jackson said BAE has been offering the calendar for at least 12 years.
“Every year, we have approximately 100 calendars made so that we can offer them to our former graduates and the community as a fundraiser for the UK BAE activities,” he said.
A $6 donation comes with one calendar, while a $10 donation (or more, in $5 increments) will come with two or more calendars, according to the Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering Department.
Calendars are available in the office at 128 C.E. Barnhart Building. There is a mailing fee, $4 for one or $8 for two or more, if people order them via mail. More information can be found here.
The donations received will go toward sponsoring BAE activities, which are aimed to better the agricultural community at UK and in Kentucky.
The BAE Student Branch allows undergraduate students to join in the functions of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. The BAE hosts multiple speakers from the discipline to provide students perspectives in the industry and potential career opportunities, Jackson said.
