UKPD found out a car accident that occurred on Maxwelton Court is likely linked to a “serious assault” which occurred in the area, UKPD said via email Monday afternoon.

UKPD responded to an accident at 9 p.m. on Sunday where the driver was injured when the vehicle drove into a building. Maxwelton Court is across the street from the UK College of Law on Limestone.

The investigation is ongoing and has been referred to Lexington Police, the email said. 

“The situation remains very fluid,” the email read. “As we have more information, we will let you know as soon as possible.”
