UPDATE: Red Bang Bang closed for now, not forever. Near-campus store to reopen with new look.

Red Bang Bang, a near-campus Chinese restaurant known for its low prices and high volume of food, has closed its doors, but not for good.

“What we’re doing is we’re changing the concept up from what we have now which is just serving Chinese food per scoop,” said Red Bang Bang Sushi manager Jose Guerrero. “We’re going to change it to a hibachi/sushi restaurant.”

Guerrero said the near-campus location is closed for remodeling for at least the month of July, but they hope to reopen in early August. He is the manager at the sushi-serving location near Fayette Mall.

The restaurant announced its closing in a post on their Facebook page that simply read: “Closed thank you for your support over the years.”

Red Bang Bang closed temporarily before in 2016 after one customer reported a rodent in their food, but reopened after being cleared by a health inspection
