Kentucky linebacker/defensive end Josh Allen and offensive tackle George Asafo-Adjei earned Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week and Offensive Lineman of the week, respectively.

This makes for the second consecutive week and third time this season that Allen has been named with SEC honors. In Kentucky’s fifth win of the season against South Carolina, Allen filled up the stat sheet with eight total tackles, three sacks, four tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry.

“He is playing outstanding football, as good as I’ve seen,” Mark Stoops said in a press conference Monday. “With all the things that he does, and how versatile he is, how hard he’s playing, how dynamic he is in his pass rushes, good in coverage, he’s just doing a lot of things good.”

Senior Asafo-Adjei graded at 90 percent for the game against South Carolina with two knockdown blocks and 19 blocks at the point of attack while not missing an assignment or allowing a sack or pressure.

Kentucky returns to the field Saturday at Texas A&M at 7 p.m on ESPN.
