Lexington Pizza Week ‘a blast’ for participants
November 8, 2018
Lexington Pizza Week is often referred to as Lexington’s biggest pizza party.
A tradition similar to Lexington Burger Week, it began on Nov. 5 and will run until Nov. 11. Until Sunday, various Lexington restaurants will feature exclusive, off-menu slices and pizzas all for $6.
There are 24 restaurants participating in Lexington Pizza Week, offering a total of 40 unique meat and vegetarian slices, many paired with beer from local beer partner Blue Stallion Brewing Co. Beyond Grits, Brewgrass Trail and G & J Pepsi are also partners in support of this community-building, city-wide event produced by Smiley Pete Publishing.
Each participating location will offer a meat option and a vegetarian option.
Some of the restaurants participating in this event are Blaze Pizza, Goodfella’s Pizzeria, Limestone Pizza, Mad Mushroom, The Big City Pizza Company, Mellow Mushroom, Brick Oven Pizzeria, among many others.
“I went to Rolling Oven Pizza on Monday night with seven of my friends, and it was a blast,” said Alex Deitemeyer, a senior at UK. “Everybody enjoyed the Chicken Gouda pizza and Potato Habanero pizza. I wish those pizzas would be on the regular menu because they were so good.”
This event is a great way to tour the city of Lexington. Customers can pick up a Lexington Pizza Week 2018 Passport at any participating location during Pizza Week. Passport includes locations, pizza names, and descriptions.
If a customer can collect three or more unique pizza stamps at participating restaurants then submit 2018 Passport, they have a chance to win the Ultimate Pizza Party. Winner will receive pizza from a participating location with all the fixings for winner and 24 guests.
If someone collects 10+ 2018 Passport stamps, they are entered for a chance to win free pizza for a year.
Customers can submit passports to any participating location, or Smiley Pete Publishing by Wednesday, Nov. 14. Drawings will be held on or about Monday, Nov. 19.
