Inclement weather will hit Lexington tonight into early tomorrow morning, Monday, March 31.
According to the National Weather Service, severe thunderstorms are expected across Central Kentucky, with winds potentially excelling to over 70 mph.
Winds of this speed could cause tree limbs to break, roof damage and semi-trucks to overturn, according to The Weather Channel.
The Weather Channel said tornadoes and hail are also possible.
In the event of severe weather, the University of Kentucky’s severe weather procedures include finding shelter locations indicated on the emergency floor plans posted in campus buildings, as well as moving toward the interior or a hallway on the lowest building floor.
According to the weather procedures, in the case of severe weather, people should seek shelter immediately and avoid outside doors and windows.
