A former University of Kentucky student was arrested at 209 University Ave. on Feb. 7, 2024 around 11:35 p.m. Neighbors told the Kentucky Kernel he had made prior threats.
Timothy James Umstead, 19, was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment of the first degree today, according to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Community Corrections website.
One of the three counts of wanton endangerment have been posted at $10,000. There is no bond posted for the additional two counts.
Umstead will have his first preliminary hearing on Feb. 12, at 8:30 a.m. in the Fayette County District Courthouse.
UK Spokesperson Jay Blanton said Umstead was enrolled in the 2023 fall semester at UK as a first-year student and is no longer a student.
Lexington Police Department Lieutenant Anderson declined to comment.
