“When Reason Sleeps, Brutality Walks Free” is the title of the Black History Month tour hosted by Ashland: The Henry Clay Estate. The tour dives into the history of those who were enslaved at the estate under Sen. Henry Clay. It showcases how the luxury of living at the estate was only made possible by the Black laborers who worked there, according to Jim Clark the executive director of the Henry Clay Memorial Foundation.
