Kentucky baseball announced Thursday that it will face off against Wright State in Ohio in exhibition play this fall.
The Wildcats are making their return after their historic run to the College World Series last June, with the scrimmage being the first of two NCAA sanctioned fall exhibition games this month.
The Cats will face off against Wright State at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, on Sunday. First pitch in the contest is scheduled for noon ET while there are no current plans for broadcast coverage.
Both teams are familiar with each other as they have met in previous years. In 2023, the two teams battled in Lexington where the Cats won two out of the three games in the series.
The pair were set to face off once more last season on May 14, but the game was canceled. Wright State held a record of 32-24 last season.
The Cats are entering their ninth season under head coach Nick Mingione and have won a total of 262 games during his tenure.
Last season was one for the history books with the team stacking up a school-record 46 wins, which included a SEC regular season championship, and the first trip to the Men’s College World Series in program history.
Mingione also took home some extra hardware, earning his second National Coach of the Year award in his time with the Cats.
Kentucky baseball will play one more exhibition after the Raiders, facing Morehead State on Sunday, Oct. 27, at Kentucky Proud Park.
The Wildcats will be looking to build upon a historic 2024 in the spring, though their season-opening opponent has yet to be released.
