National Signing Day updates

Stay tuned to 50.63.25.108 throughout the day for updates on national signing day. We’ll be posting updates on who has signed with the Cats as we get them here, and we’ll also have coverage of Joker Phillips’ news conference at 3 p.m.

A few notes:

-This is the first year the football program will be limited to signing 28 players per conference rules. Only 25 players can be given scholarships in any given year, but there are usually a few players who fail to qualify or don’t make it to campus for one reason or another.

-Jon Davis, the Eastern (Louisville) star who was the first player to commit to this class but later reopened his recruitment, reneged on his commitment when he signed with Illinois at a 1:30 news conference.

-Lamar Dawson, Mr. Kentucky Football and one of the nation’s best linebackers, threw a wrench in UK’s plans when he signed with Southern California at a 9 a.m. news conference. UK and Tennessee were believed to be the leaders for his services, and he would have been UK’s top recruit if he signed.
