Tuesday notes: Terrence Jones profile, Pros lose again, press conference audio

First, an explanation: The entire Kernel staff was gone Tuesday for our annual staff meetings, and we were unable to cover certain events. Onto the notes from the day:

  • A profile of UK forward Terrence Jones emerged late Tuesday night from Yahoo! Jones said he feels less pressure to lead this team because of the talent surrounding him, and he explains why his decision to return for a sophomore year didn’t match up with people’s expectations. Read the full story here.
  • The second Pros vs. Dominican Republic game was played, with the Dominican team winning again, 91-86. This game featured some lighting issues and, of course, some funny DeMarcus Cousins quips. CatsIllustrated has a story from the game here. And we have a story from the first game here.
  • James Pennington of 247Sports has audio from the press conference of Joe B. Hall and Denny Crum. Listen here.
  • Men’s basketball head coach John Calipari listed his 10 favorite things from the first Pros game on his website. Read them here.
  • Josh Harrellson ended up on the front page of Yahoo! for the story of him stopping a drunk driver in the parking lot of Lexington bar Tin Roof a few nights ago. Read the Yahoo! story here.
  • Brandon Knight will be heading to Los Angeles soon to train with Derrick Rose and others, USA Today reports. Read it here.
  • John Wall in the Washington Post on the possibility of returning to campus for classes: “I’m trying to see if I can take some classes on campus, and if the lockout ends I can finish online.” Read it here.
