Iowa State University’s Board of Regents will make its decision Tuesday afternoon on its new president.

UK Provost Kumble Subbaswamy is one of two finalists.

Roger Underwood, co-chair of the search committee that recommended the two finals to the Board of Regents, said he thought the decision would be made around 3:30 p.m Central time.

Underwood said Subbaswamy has been received as an engaging leader, and that he “interviewed very well.” Subbaswamy has spoken highly of his relationship with UK and with Lexington, Underwood said.

Subbaswamy will address the Board at 12:30 p.m. Central time, then the Board will go into closed session, possibly until 4 p.m. Central time, before it announces the next president.
