So CBSSports.com’s Jeff Borzello ranked the top Freshman of the Year candidates as they stand one month into the season.

Anthony Davis checked in at No. 1.

No. 2? Indiana’s Cody Zeller.

The two will be paired up Saturday when 8-0 UK meets 8-0 Indiana. Davis is averaging 12.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Zeller is averaging 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Of course, Davis has some experience with Zellers after playing Cody’s brother, North Carolina center Tyler Zeller, last Saturday. In that game, Tyler scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. And Davis has played Cody in the McDonald’s high school All-American game.

“Both of them are really tall,” Davis said. “I know both like the right hand, the jump hook.”

And, Davis hopes, both will have a loss to UK in common after Saturday.
