UK’s history as an NCAA tournament No. 1 seed

UK received a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament and is the prohibitive favorite to win the national title.

If UK does take home the trophy, it will only be the second time in 11 tries as a one seed.

The Cats have been a No. 1 seed 10 other times in program history since seeding began in 1979. Only once, in 1996, did UK end up winning the national championship. A list of the full results, with the year and the tournament record:
