UK men’s soccer travels down I-64 to take on the Louisville Cardinals on Friday.

Head coach Johan Cedergren and his squad look to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to No. 4 Charlotte on Sunday.

Following the loss, Cedergren alluded to how important this game is on the schedule: “I hope we can move on and get a big result on Friday.”

Louisville is 3-2 on the season, including a 3-2 upset over No. 15 Wake Forest in double overtime.

After beginning the year ranked No. 3 in the country, two early losses have the Cards ranked No. 14 heading into Friday’s match.

The Cards are returning seven seniors from last year’s team, including three seniors who are on the Major League Soccer watch list to begin the season.

The Cats look to upset Louisville and get started in the right direction after a 1-4 start. A positive for UK is that even though it has lost four of its first five, all of the losses have been against ranked opponents.

The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start at Cardinal Park in Louisville.
