UK Women’s soccer have been drawn at home to the University of Tennessee at Martin in round one of the NCAA tournament.

The game will be played on Friday Nov. 9th at the UK Soccer Complex.

Last season UK hosted Washington State in round one of the big dance, losing in heartbreaking fashion in a penalty shootout.

UK head coach Jon Lipsitz is hoping that a strong home support will help his side go one better than last season and move on to round two.

“Obviously we are incredibly excited to be hosting again,” he said in a UK Athletics press release.

“Last year there were 32 first-round games, and we had the third-highest attendance of all 32 games. We know all of Big Blue Nation supports us and we are looking forward to having the No. 1 biggest crowd.”

Kick-off for Friday’s game, which will be the first meeting all-time between the two schools, is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
