Quick recap: UK beats Samford 88-56

The Cats remedied some of the ailments of the past two games in a 88-56 victory over the Samford Bulldogs.

UK shot 56 percent from the field and held the Bulldogs to 40 percent shooting. Six Kentucky players reached double figures, led by freshman guard Archie Goodwin with 18.

Freshman forward Alex Poythress finished 7-of-9 from the field, totaling 16 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

Freshman forward Nerlens Noel final stat line read 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Fellow freshman big man Willy Cauley-Stein recorded his first career double-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Other double figure scorers included sophomore forward Kyle Wiltjer and graduate student Julius Mays with 10 apiece.
