The UK men’s golf team finished seventh out of 17 teams in the USF Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla., scoring 14-over-par 302 to finish 20-over for the tournament.

“Overall, we simply putted poorly,” head coach Brian Craig told UK Athletics. “The good news is we know exactly what we need to focus on as we prepare for the Auburn event. There are no mysteries here. This team is talented and will figure it out.”

Junior Stephen Powers finished at 2-under, tying for sixth overall. The top-10 finish is Powers’ second of the season.

Ben Stow, a junior from Salisbury, England, posted the low round of the final round for the Cats, finishing with an even par 72. Stow ended the tournament 1-over-par, good for 14th overall.

UK’s next competition is Monday and Tuesday at the Tiger Invitational in Auburn, Ala.
