Gymnastics sets school record in win over Ball State

The UK gymnastics team set a school record for team score in its 196.5-194.15 win at Ball State on Sunday.

UK (6-4-1, 3-3-1 SEC) has also now posted team scores of more than 196 two weeks in a row for the first time in school history. UK posted a 196.075 at No. 1 Florida on Feb. 22.

Junior Audrey Harrison won her fifth straight individual all-around title with a career-high score of 39.425. She leads the SEC with seven all-around titles this season.

Harrison also tied for the title in vault with a career-high 9.9, her 22nd event crown in 2013.

Junior Holly Cunningham produced career highs of 9.9 on vault and 9.875 on balance beam to tie for both event titles. Sophomore Shannon Mitchell tied with Cunningham on balance beam with a career-high 9.875. Mitchell has scored 9.8 or better on floor for seven straight weeks.

Junior Kayla Hartley won uneven bars with a career-high score of 9.875, securing a UK sweep of all event titles.

UK tied season-high team scores with a 49.15 on both vault and uneven bars.

The Cats entered the final rotation with three event scores of more than 49 for the first time this season, and each individual score was greater than 9.7.
